About Alicia
Find out something about me....
From Biology to Nutrition and the Love of Teaching
After being a Biology instructor at several higher education institutions throughout the Vancouver Mainland, and seeing how Nutrition has impacted my family, I decided to follow a long-time dream to apply my knowledge of Biology and I became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.
My vision about teaching these concepts has come from the need I see so kids, teens, and their parents realize how amazing is our body and how we truly need to take care of it.
And here is a bit of my story, so you get to understand why this is now my passion... "I HAD HEALTH ISSUES IN THE PAST"
One of them was that I struggled with plantar fasciitis. After many treatments of all sorts, from acupuncture to prolotherapy, from insoles to special shoes, that went on and on for a while and were expensive, I decided to take a closer look at my digestion. I have struggled with this problem for years. Where was the connection between my digestion and plantar fasciitis? What did my digestion have to do with my feet? Well, it was simple, it cleared up! I was able to hike that summer with my family and it was so much fun. I do believe that many of our health issues have to do with what we ingest, how we digest it, and how it is absorbed and assimilated in all our cells.
I am a graduate from The University of British Columbia with a Ph.D. in Botany, as well as from the University of Mexico with an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Biology. I also graduated in 2011 from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition where I got the title of Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). Please see some of my certifications below.
After figuring out that sometimes it is a matter of playing a detective game with my clients, I have been able to incorporate all of these modatlities into my practice.
Registered Holistic Nutritionists (RHNs) are professionals trained in Natural Nutrition and complementary therapies, whose main function is to educate both individuals or groups about the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition.
ENTHUSIASTIC AND DEDICATED
I am a deeply committed holistic health practitioner, who is very enthusiastic and dedicated to her clients and practice. This comes from my strong belief in the power of natural nutrition and the amazing ability of the human body to heal. My goal is to empower my clients through education while guiding them through their journey to healing and wellness. This allows clients to learn and listen to their bodies so that they can become independent and be their own wellness guide.
I am confidential, professional, and provide a wellness solution to your lifestyle and health.
“I look forward to assisting you in achieving optimum health and wellness.”
The Impact of Nutrition on my Family Health
We have changed the way we eat at home, and it has been an amazing journey. I believe that we all have the right to wellness and health, and that our bodies are capable of self-healing. That is why I have called my business naturesheal – Natural Healing Nutrition.
